Jeannie Reid passed away early Tuesday evening, August 24, 2021 in the loving care of the Huron Hospice in Clinton. She died in the arms of her loving husband Rob, who was there when she took her last breath. This was a true blessing for him. She leaves behind her two sons, Jason, and Sean, who were with her in her last days, her three grandchildren, Alyssa, Kiana, and Conner, her three sisters, Louise, Audrey, and Francine, and her brother Allan.
Jeannie was at peace with the life she had lived and was accepting of her approaching death. With her strong faith, Jeannie knows that she will be with her Lord in Heaven. We’ll miss you Jeannie, but we take solace in knowing you were at such peace in the end. She was always smiling and joking with the nurses and giving words of encouragement to visitors. She was more concerned about others than herself right to the end. That was the Jeannie we all knew and loved. She had friends all over the world including Africa, Stouffville, and where she lived her last six years, in the golf community of the Bridges of Seaforth. Take care Jeannie, we love you, and we’ll see you again.
Keeping with Jeannie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at the Bridges of Seaforth Rec Centre, 20 McPherson Avenue (just down the road from the Seaforth Golf Club), on Saturday, September 18th, beginning at 1 PM. Weather dependent, we are hopeful to celebrate Jeannie’s life outdoors, as she would have loved. If you are able, please bring a lawn chair. Due to Provincial COVID-19 restrictions, each person must RSVP for the Celebration of Life, please click “Register Now” below to register. If you are unable to attend the service in person, the family invites you to join with them from the comfort of your home. Stream the service live or at your convenience by visiting www.facebook.com/haskettfh.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Huron Hospice, Clinton would be appreciated by the family.

Rob and Family,
Though our words can do little, we hope our thoughts and prayers will support you at this time. We have so many fond memories of Jeannie and are even more precious as each day passes. Came across this and hope it brings you some comfort in the days ahead… Time Machine… I came across a picture of you today. The tears just started falling, but I couldn’t turn away. I closed my eyes and I was there that day so long ago… I saw your eyes still shining bright alive and so aglow. I’d swear I heard your laughter as I gazed upon your face, that golden and contagious sound that nothing can replace. It brought back such sweet memories of how life used to be. Each picture’s now a time machine that brings you back to me. XOX
Rev. Stephen Kern
Dear Rob,
It is a wonderful testimony to Jeannie, and to your loving relationship with her, to see so many offers of condolences. To those I add the love, prayers, and best wishes of your former church, St. Philip’s on the hill. I will always remember the sparkle in Jeannie’s eye and her warm bright smile. It was a pleasure to serve with you around the altar. Jeannie has a strong faith, and that faith has now become sight in the glorious presence of the Lord. Her suffering has ended, her victory by grace won.
You will continue in our prayers, and the men of our zoom bible study send you warm greetings and support.
May the grace of the Risen Lord continue to enfold you at this time…Rev. Stephen, St. Philip’s Anglican Church

Dear Rob,
When I lost a spouse I found that I needed to take it easy and not do as much as I did when my husband was still alive. With time things got easier and I started getting used to a new normal. Difficulty sleeping can be treated with melatonin in one or three mg. doses. Melatonin is a hormone that our body produces to help us sleep and is non-habit forming.
I barely met Jeannie. I am so glad that she knows Jesus and was ready to die when it was her time.
I am glad that you were able to be with her when she passed away. I am glad many people loved and will miss Jeannie. It is good that you had such a fine wife.
Sincerely
Jane O’Neill Venezia
