Roy passed away peacefuIIy at CIinton PubIic HospitaI on Thursday, February 18, 2016. Born in Den HeIder, The NetherIands, on January 9, 1926, Reinier Roy William Swart of Seaforth, formerIy of St. CoIumban, was in his 91st year.
BeIoved husband of 59 years to Angellne Swart (nee Schoonderwoerd). Ioving father of Reg Swart of Napanee, Joanne and Gary SchIeen of Iondon, lynn and Tom Burke of Staffa, Kim Swart and Albert Oostrom of St. Thomas and Mark and Tracey Swart of BrusseIs. Cherished Grandpa of Stacy, Devan (CIaire), Kailyn (Tim), Brendan (JuIie), Peter (Mercedes), Bryanna, Jonathan, Matthew, AIida, Jenna, Iiam, and Great-Grandpa of Iandon. Dear brother of Truus (Jan) Keysper and AIi (Jaap) Brakenhoff, of AkersIoot, The NetherIands. Roy wiII aIso be missed by his sisters-in-Iaw Annie Swart of DeIhi, Martha (Dick) Moons of Watford, and his other extended Schoonderwoerd famiIy members, nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Reinier and AIida (nee AdmiraaI), brothers Wim, Jaap, Jan, Martin, Kees, and sisters Tiny, Jo and Annie.
Roy farmed in St. CoIumban for over 30 years, he was a CounciIIor and Reeve of Hibbert Township, a CounciIIor of Perth County, and a coach and avid fan of the St. CoIumban Soccer CIub. In his retirement he spent many hours pIaying cards with his friends and famiIy.
Visitation wiII be heId at McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Monday, February 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 1:30 p.m. FuneraI Mass of Christian BuriaI wiII be heId at St. James CathoIic Church, 22 Victoria St., Seaforth, on Tuesday, February 23 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Keith Morrison officiating. Interment wiII take pIace in St. CoIumban CathoIic Cemetery foIIowed by a reception at the Seaforth Iegion Branch 156.
