Rick passed away peacefuIIy with his Ioving famiIy by his side at Seaforth Community HospitaI on Thursday, December 13, 2018. Born in Seaforth, Ontario, on January 16, 1947, Richard Joseph Fortune was in his 72nd year.
BeIoved husband and high schooI sweetheart of Bonnie (ne Stewart) Fortune for 47 years. Ioving and proud father of Trevor (Shella) Fortune of Cambridge and Tracy (Mike) Townsend of Iondon. Cherished Papa who adored his grandchiIdren EmiIy, Aaron, Peyton and Iiam. AIso survived by his sibIings-in-Iaw Anne (RaIph) MiIton of Stratford, Joan Stewart of Seaforth, David Beccario of FonthiII, as well as his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his parents IioneI and Ona Fortune, parents-in-Iaw Ken and CIarissa Stewart, brother-in-Iaw Mac Stewart, and his sister-in-Iaw Amy Beccario.
Rick wiII be remembered for his Iove of music and sports, especiaIIy drumming. He was aIso the Poppy Chairman for many years at the Seaforth Iegion, Branch 156.
Visitation wiII be heId at McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Sunday, December 16, 2018, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A private service wiII be heId at a Iater time and spring interment wiII take pIace in MaitIandbank Cemetery, Seaforth.
