With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Eileen at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Friday, August 14, 2020, at age 76.
Beloved wife of Gordon Ross for 54 years. Dear mother of Michelle and Chad Brown of London and Kevin and Lisa Ross of Dresden. Dear grandmother of Mackenzie, Kathryn and Nicholas Brown; Victoria Taylor, Brandon Hennessy and Rena Ross. Dear sister-in-law of William Stephenson of Toronto and Elaine and Jim Tomlinson of Exeter. Remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Gilbert and Grace Smith of Seaforth, sister Lorraine Stephenson, father and mother-in-law Ernest and Rena Ross and sister-in-law, Marlene Ostland.
Eileen was a generous person whose compassion and care was evident with her family, friends and her calling as a nurse. She worked in the health care profession for many years, spending the majority of her time at the Exeter Villa where her kind heart and calm temperament put residents and families at ease.
Visitation will be held at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, Exeter on Monday from 4-7 PM. Due to Provincial COVID-19 restrictions, each person must RSVP with a time to attend the visitation and must wear a mask. A private funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 18 at 11 AM. Though the service is private, the family invites you to join them from the comfort of your home. Stream the service live by visiting www.facebook.com/haskettfh. Interment Exeter Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to VON Canada (Victorian Order of Nurses) or Jessica’s House would be appreciated by the family.
