Peacefully and gently, surrounded by her family, Doris Edna (Cole) Schilbe formerly of Bayfield passed away on Monday August 4, 2014 at Huronview, Clinton, in her 81st year. Beloved wife of Albert Schilbe of Bayfield. Dear mother of Eric Schilbe of Olds, AB, Cathy Scott and Wayne Meunier of London, Dianne and Brian Brandon of Bayfield and Tamika Schilbe of London. Loving grandmother of Shannon Schilbe Crow, Conrad Schilbe and Logan, Cindy DeJong and Ian Koetsier, Jennifer Scott and Richard Chessell, Samantha Scott and Marco Tatta, David Scott and Elise Barrette, Chris and Lisa Brandon, Jim and Jess Brandon and Cathy Brandon and great-grandmother of 14 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Anna Stirling, Ethel Desjardine, Marg and Sam Argyle and Jack Cole. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews and the Henry and Emma Schilbe family. Predeceased by her parents Oliver and Edna (Crich) Cole, one son Doug (1975) and 2 brothers-in-law Grant Stirling and Wilmer Desjardine and one sister-in-law Ethel Cole. Doris was “Mom” to many foster children through Huron County Children’s Aid Society.
Visitation in the J. M. McBeath Funeral home, 49 Goshen St. N., Zurich on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be conducted in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Zurich on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11 a.m.. Pastor Nadine Schroeder-Kranz officiating. Interment Bayfield Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of one’s choice.
