Linda, I was so saddened to hear of Doug’s passing. No doubt the fact that this was so sudden has been even more difficult to deal with. I always enjoyed his humour & laid-back, smiling demeanour; it came through especially in his monthly VG Newsletter & the way he conducted our annual general meetings. He will certainly be missed.

To the entire Scott family. Our hearts have been broken again this past week with the passing of another one of our good friends Doug. He was our handy electrician and always was willing to help get things finished and going. He had been so determined to help with issues that were happening in our family and we are so glad he got to know that his determination payed off. What we will miss the most is his humor, the pranks he could think of and pull off will go down in history. I do know there will be some shenanigans going on were ever he is. Him Dale, Jerry and Ian will be up to all their old tricks and laughing. RIP Dear friend.

We will always remember Doug for his unique gift of teasing and joking, often at our expense. Those moments of laughter brought such light and joy, reminding us not to take life too seriously. Dear family. Doug was my good friend from grade three on when our family moved from Lions Head to Ferndale and i began school at Ferndale. We played together as kids and hung out together as youth. We even shared our homework and our Coles notes, sometimes while we waited for the school bus at Ferndale Drive In. French class with Doug, Evan, Ross and Scott was ahoot. We bought matching black Fidoras and wore them when we went skating in Wiarton. Will miss the phone calls, texts and emails. I plan to meet him again when Jesus calls my name for Jesus is the resurrection and the life.
Roger and Loretta Plomley
Dear Linda and Family

Barry ( Linda’s brother) & Jentie McKenzie
Those who knew Doug most likely have heard of or been the target of one of Doug’s practical jokes. A favourite was Larry and June entrusting Doug to check their condo and returning home from Florida to a rubber boot in the front hall, another on their bed along with an empty wine bottle and what appeared to be a lump in the bed ( pillows). We will miss him!
Joanne Hatt

Sincerest sympathy to Linda, Sherry and family, Marcie and family, on the passing of Doug. The immeasurable loss you are feeling can only be lessened by a lifetime of wonderful memories.
Doug lived his life in his own quiet way but was never too far from the action when called upon to help. Always enjoyed visiting with him at the family get togethers and catching his suttle humour in the conversation. Rest in peace Doug.
Due to ongoing health issues we will be unable to attend the planned events but be assured you all will be in our thoughts in the coming days.
Jentie McKenzie
The world is a less fun place for Doug’s passing. While I’m glad he is no longer suffering, I’m very sorry for those of us left behind. Who will go for midnight rambles with me now with beer tucked into his pockets? Where are my children going to find again an uncle who will help them steal cars? It’s just not right but I can only assume God has a better plan than mine.
Murray and Irene Howe
Dear Linda and family, Our deepest condolences on your loss of husband, father, and grandfather, Doug. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
