It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving husband and father Wayne Michael Serre at the age of 61 on October 26, 2017. Wayne is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 39 years Joanne. Devoted father to Michelle (Geoffrey), Jennifer, Christopher, Cassandra and Dylan. Proud Papa to Addison, Hudson and Mason Hare. Predeceased by his daughter Nicole, his brother-in-law Lenny Campbell and his favourite Grandparents Peter and Sarah Barclay and Derias and Veronique Serre. He is survived by his sisters Brenda Campbell and Linda Wright. Wayne will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Wayne spent his spare time volunteering within the community. He was an honourary life member and past president of the Sarnia Optimist Club. He also was past vice-president of the Bluewater Anglers in Point Edward where he loved to promote and preserve fishing. Wayne and Joanne enjoyed spending time together up north RV’ing, fishing, motorcycling and snowmobiling. Wayne will be greatly missed by his family and friends raising a little hell, and most importantly, making memories full of laughter with his children and grandchildren.
Close family and friends are invited to the St. Patrick Church, 32922 Richmond Street, Lucan on Thursday, November 2nd , 2017 from 9 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 AM, with Father Ross Bartley presiding. Interment into St. Patrick Cemetery, Lucan.
Donations to the Optimist Club of Ilderton in Wayne’s memory would be appreciated.

Our sincerest condolences go to Joanne and family with the passing of Wayne. He fought a tough long battle with pride and dignity. He will be missed yet always remembered as the guy with the loud voice and silly grin. As the years pass by and the cold winds blow the circle of friends becomes smaller, leaving those remaining to carry on the memories. Ride on Wayne, to where the Phoenix rises!
P.S. Due to a previous appointment which can’t be rebooked unfortunately we will not be able to attend the service for Wayne. Our deepest apologies.
