Theresa passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Seaforth Long Term Care Home on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the age of 97.
Theresa was predeceased by her loving husband George Simpson of 45 years. She was dearly loved and is survived by her sister Geraldine Wilson of Seaforth, her brother Patrick Ryan of Mitchell, and her nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her loving stepdaughter Patricia Dunn of Leamington, her sister-in-law Marion Simpson of Sarnia, and their families. Theresa will be fondly remembered by the extended Simpson and Ryan families and her many friends in the London Area.
Theresa was predeceased by her brothers, sisters and in-laws Maurice and Jean Ryan, Mary Margaret and John Maloney, Ewart Wilson, Patricia and Edward Tozer, Alice Ryan, Jack and Betty Ryan, Marie Ryan, Marjory and Ralph Evans, Herbert Simpson, and her stepson Tom Simpson.
In earlier years, Theresa was a member and soloist of St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica Choir in London, and later a deeply faithful and active member of St. George Parish, Byron before moving to Seaforth.
Theresa lived a life filled with joy and grace. She cherished her family and her brothers and sisters and their many gatherings and celebrations, as well as the social times she shared with her friends in the London area. Theresa always shared her love and care with her nieces and nephews, taking great interest in their lives and pride in their accomplishments. We deeply loved and cared for her in return.

Theresa was a very sweet and lovely lady. My parents Fred and Alison Tucker spent many wonderful times together reminiscing about their days in the RCAF while they lived in London. My deepest sympathy to Theresa’s family. She had many fond memories of her and George’s family and spoke about them often. Thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Barb Mylemans

What a very loving and caring lady. A real class act. 97 years old. What an accomplishment! She always said yes when I knocked on her door and bought Girl Guide cookies from me.
From the neighbour across the road on Fairlane Ave.

Theresa was married to my cousin George. Theresa and George were truly a match made in heaven. When in their company, you could feel the love they had for each other. Theresa is remembered, by my siblings and myself, as a sweet and kind lady. Rest in peace Theresa.

Lori Anne MacInnes-Potts
Dearest Geraldine and family, and Pat and family; I’m very sorry for all of you that lost such a dear soul. I used to be a neighbor of Theresa and George – on Fairlane Ave in London, and although we both had a couple of moves after that, we always kept in touch monthly by phone and for lunches and errands out, for many years. We were friends for almost 40 years. I will treasure my memories of that very special lady who was a dear friend to me. I find comfort in knowing she’s back with the “love of her life” George, whom she missed dearly, as well as her deceased family members.
Much love, Lori MacInnes-Potts, London.
