As we are in Florida, we were not aware of Mrs. Skillender passing…I am so very, very sorry. Your mother saved our daughters life…because of her and Mr.Siertsema..she was accepted into Stephen with their support and guidance…Jacqueline finished high school at 21 and won 3 math awards. Not enough words to thank your mother for caring..She is missed and no one can replace her heart. Sympathy and blessings.

Sincere sympathy to you in your loss of your mom, Jay. I never realized that Jay was in her 80s because she always thought and acted like a much younger personality regardless of her disability.

Dear Elizabeth,
You have lost a wise and loving mother who enriched so many lives over the years!
We met in 1968 at Stephen Central School and bonded, through teaching together for many years, spending two nights at school during the blizzard of ‘71 with our pupils!
Beta Sigma Phi sorority made us sisters, leading us in the tenets of life, learning and friendship.
Treasure your memories, Liz. She was a teacher to the end.

Dear Liz:
I’m sad to hear of your mother Jay’s passing. I know she has not been feeling well for some time, she will be at peace. We were sorority sisters for many years, together we attended meetings and Founder’s Day. I remember her working on a regional get together, which was well attended and everyone expressed how well it was done. Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this sad time. We extend our deepest sympathy.
