My deepest sympathy to “Miss McIntyre’s” family. I first met your mother when I began school at Lucan Public School where she taught me for grade 1,2 and 3. I have many wonderful memories of that time. Then many years later when I was a beginning teacher at Prince Andrew I had the pleasure of teaching Marion in grade 2 and was delighted to find out who her mother was. Cherish all your memories of this wonderful lady.

I have great memories of Mrs. Smibert on a couple of levels. 1st as my kind and compassionate 6th grade teacher. She encouraged my love of math. Secondly, as an involved member of the community. She knew and cared about neighbours near and far. I was particularly touched that she attended my mother’s visitation. I last saw her at the Centennial reunion a few years ago and was as sharp as ever. I was thrilled to hear she was still at the farm and playing Euchre all over the county. I am currently in Las Vegas so I won’t be able to attend the funeral to express my condolences in person.
