Just heard from Rachel about your mom. My sympathies to all of you. I won’t forget all the good times and how well I was received in your home.

Dear Jeanette,
Although it has been many years since we all went our own ways, I still have abiding gratitude for the wonderful world we all grew up in on our “Survey.” We knew everybody on the loop, and there was kindness and a warm feeling of safety that — unfortunately — seems harder to find all the time. Your parents were a big part of that, and I can still here your mother’s voice in my head, herding a bunch of little kids on bicycles (us) or calling you in for lunch. It is lovely to see the pictures of her as a beautiful young woman – and very much as I knew you! – as well as revelling with her grandchildren.
I am glad that she had such a good, long run at life, and was there to be a part of her grandchildren’s lives. It will mean a lot to them going forth, as it did for her.
I am in Ottawa now, divorced with one son (John Mackenzie (Kenzie) Graham, 25) living in Toronto. If you ever feel like getting in touch, you have my email address. I’d love to hear from you. Maybe one day we will convince you and Susan (morris) to come to one of our reunions . . . or, we could have a mini-reunion with just a few of us?
Meanwhile, my best wishes to you and your family.
love
Fern
