Frank Soudant passed away suddenly on March 11,2023 in his 86th year with his family by his side at Exeter hospital. He will be dearly missed by his wife Elizabeth (Libby), his daughter and son-in-law Pollyanna and Todd Becker; his son and daughter in-law Aaron and Brigette Soudant. Forever loved by his grandchildren Dylan Becker, Aiden and Haylee Soudant.
Survived by his sister and brother-in-law Joanna and Gene Brenders; brother and sister-in-law Gus and Bella Soudant and sisters Jeannette and Lisa Regier. He was predeceased by his mother and father Theodorus and Ida Soudant, brother Hank Soudant, and brother-in-law Peter Regier.
Frank was born in Garonsveld, Holland in 1937. On April 27th, 1949, his family left Holland and immigrated to Canada. They set sail for Canada on the Tabinta, a converted troopship and eventually settled in Zurich, Ontario where they ran a family vegetable farm for many years.
Frank had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge! His favorite program was Quirks & Quarks on CBC radio. Frank lived life to the fullest and enjoyed sharing his many experiences and stories with everyone. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and an active member of the Mousseau & Parkins Hunt Club on Manitoulin Island for over 50 years.
In keeping with Frank’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no formal services. In lieu of this, please share any stories or memories you have about Frank below. If you wish to send in a photo of Frank, please do so by sending it directly to info@haskettfh.com
We are all very proud to have had him as a husband, father, grandfather and friend. While we are sad to say goodbye, Frank left an everlasting impression on those that he touched and will never be forgotten.
Rest In Peace.
