With heartfelt gratitude for a life well lived we announce her death. She died peacefully in her 92nd year on January 28, 2014. Cathy grew up in Exeter, moved to Grand Bend and since 2007 has been a part of Chateau Gardens, Parkhill. Her husband Bob left us in July 2012, Cathy was the love of his life for 66 years.
She was the loving mother of daughter Jane and Bruce Lee, and son Barry and Carolyn. Great-Grandmother of Eric, Owen, Hannah, Kayna, Alexander; Alyssa, Sarah; Dylan, Carson; Jaci-Lynn, Meleena. Extended family of Brooke, Melissa, Mark, Casee, Abbie, Stella, Matthew and Gage. Dear sister of Irvine (Lois) Armstrong. Predeceased by sister Lorraine Webber (1998) and parents William and Valeria (Bedford) Armstrong.
Cathy was a charter and active member of Exeter United Church UCW, Sunday school teacher for 25 years, champion skip of Exeter Women’s Curling Club, winner of several shuffleboard trophies in Florida, 2002 winner for her flower beds, and active for some years in the productions of The Exeter Times Advocate. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will take place in Exeter Cemetery.
Cathy’s family invites you to join them at a memorial service to celebrate her life at Grand Bend United Church on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11 AM, and for a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider Chateau Gardens Memorial Fund or Huron County Alzheimer Society.
The family would like to acknowledge the caring and supportive staff at Chateau Gardens, Parkhill and Dr. Andrew Whynot in Cathy’s struggle with Alzheimers.

Barry, Jane and families;
Please accept our deepest sympathy. I remember a Catherine of many years ago, at the Robinson and Hicks picnics in the summer. We always had so much fun playing those silly games and contests. The family competitions were always greeted with laughter. I remember a vivacious lady of grace, who usually had a smile on her face. I remember your family’s connections with the Exeter Times Advocate as well. She will be missed by your family but her many memories will help to keep her with you still. She is at peace now. God bless.
