Reta (Fleischauer) Thiel formerly of Zurich, passed away at Queensway Nursing Home, Hensall on Sunday, July 21, 2013 in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Carl George Thiel (1986). Dear mother and mother-in-law of Greg and Debbie Thiel of Sebringville and Bruce McIntyre of London. Loving grandmother of Tye and Arlene McIntyre, Drew and Colleen McIntyre, Kendra and Glen Crouch, Jason Thiel, Rachel and Tim Sexton and Andrew Thiel and great grandmother of Callum Crouch and Sophie Sexton. Fondly remembered by the Elmer Thiel family and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Henry and Emma (Flaxbard) Fleischauer and one daughter Catherine McIntyre (Jan. 2013), her sisters Clara Hooper, Dora Smale, Eleanor Gingerich, Adeline Tyler and brothers Oscar, Lorne, Albert, Irvin and Norman.
The Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the J. M. McBeath Funeral Home, 49 Goshen St. Zurich, Ont. Visitation from 1 p.m. until service time. Pastor Tracey Whitson-Bahro officiating. Interment Emmanuel United Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
