Peacefully at his home on Sunday, December 8, 2019 of Lucan at the age of 82. Beloved husband of the late Beverley “Bev” (Breen) Toohey (2017). Dear father of Karen and Ken Filson of Birr, Stephen Toohey of Lucan, Ann and Rob Bennett of Lucan, Elaine and Glenn Bieman of Ayton, and Patrick and Janet Toohey of Denfield. Dear grandfather of Shannon and Kevin, Colleen, Olivia, Ciara; Julia and Jake; Christopher, Daniel and Malcolm; Joel, Laura, Charlotte and Elizabeth. Dear brother of Cecilia Connolly, and Patricia Grace both of London, and John Toohey of Kingston. Predeceased by brothers-in-law Joe Grace and Mike Connolly. Over 60 years Paul & Bev built a thriving grain and supply business from scratch, putting the needs of the local farming community ahead of their own.
Visitation will be held at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the St. Patrick Church, 32922 Richmond Street, Lucan on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 11 AM with Father Ross Bartley presiding. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Lucan. Prayers will be said in the funeral home on Thursday evening at 8:45 PM.
