Barbara Ann (Rea) Trudgeon, at the proud age of 70 (gifted 10 extra years), of Thorndale, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 and was taken home. Loving, and caring wife and best friend of Donald Trudgeon for 48 years. Proud mother of Michelle Easden (Andrew), twins Dayna Comfort (Jeremy) and Donald Trudgeon (Nicole), and Kimberly Trudgeon (Bernard Bukala). Adored and treasured grandma and best friend of Victoria, Dylan, Matthew, Madison, Breanna, Haden, Samara, Hannah, Zuzanna, Julia, and Alexander. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Betty Jean Mendham (Andrew), Beverly Taylor (Robert), Doug Trudgeon (Janice), and Darlene Tompkins (Robert). Cherished by her special nieces and nephews.
Barb was a loving, caring and devoted wife, supportive and selfless mother, extraordinarily fun grandmother, thoughtful sister, strong believer and a gracious friend. She was a beyond generous kind soul exuding love and light. She had a giving and genuine heart, gifting spirit and gracious soul. She was most proud of her beloved husband and her big family always putting others before herself. She was a best friend and cheerleader always knowing just what to say to soothe the heart. She was a pet whisperer and lived her life to the fullest. She met everyone with a warm heart, smile and contagious laughter. She was a strong woman of faith and lived life by example with a sparkle in her eye. She was a gifted teacher and nurturing mother.
Her oven was always on with a meal, cookies, apple pie or cinnabon’s waiting. She shared her endless life skills of faith, friendship, cooking, baking, sewing, generously gifting and spoiling loved ones, thoughtful conversations, extraordinary intuition and love for the farm and nature. She was an admirable animal lover and always took time with each and every beloved pet. A favourite place of Barb’s was sitting by the water where it brought her peace enjoying it with the love of her life.
The best gift she gave each of us was the time we were blessed to share together. She will be remembered with a coffee in hand, surrounded by all of her family sharing her big, bold, and beautiful laugh. Most importantly, she taught us to value time with loved ones and there is always room for more fun and laughter.

We were so saddened by the news of Barb. She was a courageous woman. We have so many fond memories of the many years of Field Hockey that the girls played. The many early morning trips to Toronto with Kim. The four of us watching and cheering as Beth and Kim played the sport that they so loved. Barb’s laughter was contagious and she could always find something positive in any situation. We really enjoyed our last get together a few years ago. We wish we had done it more often.
Sending our deepest sympathies, prayers and love to you, Don and the family

Barb… AKA my second mom! I have vivid memories of taking many trips to Toronto with Donald driving, Barb in passenger seat, and Kim am I sprawled out in the back of the truck. Barb would always say, “Oh Kimmy!”… as a playful way to express her love, support, (sometimes worry), or amusement of Kim’s stories.
Barb had the biggest heart for all humans and animals. Welcoming anyone into her home.
She treated me like a daughter, taking care of me… and always making sure I was never hungry (lol). And Swiss Chalet! How she loved going for dinner there.
Her love of life was contagious. She had a special way of making everything feel ok. Barb would empathize with what you’re going through, but then spin it so you felt better.
I will miss her! And I’ll so thankful for the memories of time & conversations with her. Xoxo

Dear Don and Family
I am so sorry for your loss. Barb was a awesome woman. She had a Great love for her family and friends. She was a joy to be with. She loved the Lord and put her faith in Him. As I was thinking about Barb’s life well lived, I remembered getting a call from my family several years ago saying my mom was dying and I needed to hurry back to the States. I flew back and rushed to see her. I got to spend a few special days with my mom before she went to be with the Lord. She told me her greatest concern and request to God that all of her family and friends would have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and spend eternity in heaven. I believe Barb had the same prayer and request to God for all her family and friends would know Christ and spend eternity with her in heaven.

Over the years you have been a treasured and special friend. From the trips away with our combined mob of 8 kids you were full of grace and humour. You were inflatable!
In the hospital we had hours of special times as we shared, reminisced, and prayed.
When Don had his accident although scared you were a rock and never lost faith.
I will never forget your laugh.
Don – keep strong and lean on your faith. Even though your kids have lost their mother, they will be a source of strength and comfort for you.
Finally – Don – “Been there, Done that”! Seemingly trite words but I know what you are experiencing. When you need to talk I’m here for you.
