It is with great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Hubertina “Tina” Van Boxmeer on Monday, March 25, 2024 of Ilderton, at the age of 91. Beloved wife of Henricus “Harry” Van Boxmeer for 64 great years. Proud mother of Harry (Dawna), Gary (Arlene), Frances (Doug), Joe (Rebecca), Chris (Michelle), and Tina-Marie. Adored Oma of Patrick (Mikayla) and Cameron; Olivia; Scott (Kelley), Jen, Jocelyn, and Leanne; Samantha (Marc), Tristen and Emily; Chloe and Jacqueline; Jacob and Eve and Great-Oma of Brody Brenner and Karter Van Boxmeer. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Gerry and Wilma Van Bussel, Catherine and Gerry Hilhorst, Jack and Bernie Van Bussel, Mary and John Tenkate, Joanne and Tony Smulders, Jim and Cathy Van Bussel, Chris and Cathy Van Bussel, Elizabeth and Jeff Roestenberg, Helmi and John Kaufmann, Helen and Brian McHenry, and Sharon and Joe Czikk. Tina will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, the Van Boxmeer families and many friends.
Tina immigrated to Canada with her parents and eleven other siblings in 1950. With her brothers and sisters, they were able to keep the one room school house open at St. Parick’s parish. In later years, Tina in concert with her father, ran the office operations of multiple businesses from a small office located at the corner of the Roman Line and No. 4 Highway. These businesses included Seelster Farms and Frank Van Bussel and Sons Ltd which still continue to thrive to this day. Tina ran the office portion of the project management operations for construction projects taken on by Frank Van Bussel and Sons as well as taking a major role in estimating for these projects. Even though she competed against her husband’s company (Van Boxmeer Construction) for projects they formed a great team in raising their six children. In her retirement years Oma used to dote on her grandchildren. These grandchildren were her pride and joy and always looked forward to Sunday brunch at Oma’s house. During these brunches Tina was always tuned into discussions around the table on how the standardbred horse sales were going and what tenders were awarded to both Frank Van Bussel and Sons Ltd. and Van Boxmeer Construction. Tina’s kindness, gentle spirit, and love of family and friends will be forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Oakcrossing, especially on Sugar Maple, for their care and compassion over the years.

So sorry to hear the sad news of Tina’s passing. She will be fondly remembered, and of course she indeed does live on in her children. I’ve often heard how her family loved the breakfasts at Oma’s house, I assume the torch has been passed. Losing your mom is a difficult thing to deal with but it gets easier over time. Sadness is replaced by pleasant memories, you may even catch yourself doing, or saying something that reminds you of her. That will bring a smile to your face. Our condolences to all of the Van Boxmeer and Van Bussel families. I was so fortunate to get to know so many of both families over my career, working with the horses at Seelster farms. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, Helen and Don Thomson.
Anne Giesen and Family
Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family during these difficult days.

To the van Bussel and the vanBoxmeer family’s
So sorry to hear about Tina’s passing!!
Hard to believe that it was 74 years ago that your families came to St. Pat’s.
Our school went from about 12 to 22 overnight and it was wonderful and Tina, like me were the oldest of a ‘bunch’ and looking back, it was challenging and very rewarding!!
RIP

Dear Pat & Mikayla, Karter
I send sincere sympathy to you and your family. What a delightful story you have shared here and continue to live out . Oma’s story has me looking forward to seeing a few new “construction” changes at your new “family heritage home” on Elimville Line. Enjoy the stories of Oma shared amid laughter and tears and since she was a “Dutch” Oma I imagine a large pot of coffee will be available to all in the coming days. Continue her legacy in love.
