It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dick Vandeworp at his home on Saturday, December 11, 2021 of London, at the age of 67. Cherished husband and partner of Yen (Tran) Vandeworp for over 36 years. Loving and proud father of Vinh Vandeworp and Tamara Hains of Toronto. Doting grandpa of grandchildren Samantha Vandeworp, and Darius Vandeworp. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Sandra Vandeworp of Exeter, Bill and Elaine Vandeworp of Dashwood, Annie Vandeworp of London, Shirley Morrow of London, Earl Forth of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, and Angela Vandeworp of St. Thomas. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Evert and Antje (Roessink) Vandeworp, brothers Gerry, Albert, John, and infant brother Johannes, and sister Alie.
Anyone who knew Dick fondly remembers him for his kindness and good humor. Despite his health issues, Dick was a person more concerned about his family and friends than himself. He deeply loved his two grandchildren, greatly enjoyed watching videos and photos of their antics, and cherished his time with them.
A private family service to honour Dick’s life will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter on Wednesday, December 15th at 1 PM. Cremation with interment Exeter Cemetery.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
Archbishop Dr. Michael R. Foreman
Oh my gosh! I am shocked. Dick and I were best friends as kids. I have often thought of him and missed him. It is hard when a childhood friend passes on. God be with you Dick. Hope to see you someday. My deepest condolences to the family.
